I have been in discussion with few of my ex colleagues and learned something which i feel is not the right indicator of the role fitment. Majority of the hiring managers are being choosy about the domain expertise and reluctant to consider the candidates from a different domain expertise, no matter how good they are in their area of expertise. A recent case, i referred a fantastic (IT)Recruiter to a great eCommerce organization, they liked his expertise in Recruitment, but not going ahead as he does not have prior experience in eCom industry. Somewhere i feel it is not right as gaining that expertise should not take much time and this is how we promote diverse mindset within the team and organization. Your views pls.
