In real estate the traditional recruiting comes from within the organization.  Hiring Managers advertise in the newspaper, get referrals from their agents, mass email prospects as well as meet and greet and visit open houses and real estate schools.

So if they would use other resources like an  outside recruiting firm, or social media outlets how would they recruit using these methods or what could they expect?   What would work?  What would not and where are the surprises?

FOR THOSE NOT FAMILAR WITH REAL ESTATE AGENTS:

Agents are paid on a 100% commission basis.  They split their commission typically four (4) ways depending on their experience level and company offerings.  Agent's pay desk fees, their own expenses, cultivate their leads, they are their own boss, have flexible hours, and unlimited income potential.

Let's say for the sake of argument that an agent will earn $30,000 their first year so you can estimate your pay out for finding and placing an  agent.  Could you recruit to this industry?  Would you?  How would you attract talent to be able to discuss the opportunity with them?  Would you advertise on job boards and in print publications or would you also use social media to help you?  If so, what venues and how?
