This is Maya Walker, your first degree connection on linkedin and founder of linkedinpowerwomen. Thank you for blessing LIPW with your membership. I sent you a message via linkedin but wanted to cover all my bases to make sure I reach you and get your attention :-)
I saw the Candidate Selection Associate (Field HR role) you posted on recruitingblogs.com and wanted to reach out to you for consideration of my candidacy for that position.
Linkedin and recruitingblogs do not allow attachments through the messaging system but I will send you my resume in a separate email. I believe that I am a very strong candidate for that role.
In 2002 I worked in the original TSA project (under the NCS Pearson contract) and performed candidate recruitment, selection, assessment and training, all the way to salary offers and closure of assessment centers throughout the 429 airports in the US. By project's end, we had hired 44,000 candidates and put 66,000 in the ready pool. All told, we screened a database of 1.8 million applicants. I am very familiar with TSA policies and still have the old employment manual.
I would be very interested in the Oakland, CA position. I now live about 25 minutes away from Oakland but up until last year I was a 30-year resident of Oakland. I was a former Ambassador of the Oakland Chamber of Commerce and know that city like the back of my hand. I know its resources well, possess a deep understanding of the culture, and will do a terrific job screening the locals and applicants from the immediate vicinity.
I will send you my resume under separate cover directly to your work email address but wanted to give an advance shout out to you. I hope you'll give me the opportunity to interview and vie for the position.
Looking forward with positive expectation to your assist!
