I received this list over 10 years ago and just refound it. I love the fact that it says “Placement Process” and not recruiting process. We are in this business to make placements! I did not write this list but do like it.
30 steps in the Placement Process
What would you add or delete from the list?
This is classic Tony Byrne from at least 20 + years ago and it's still spot on.
thanks Harris - The list I had did not give credit to whomever wrote it. Thanks for letting me know it is from Tony Byrne. I agree with the list!
This is just fantastic stuff that takes me back to my early days as a "commission only" Recruiter in good old Indiana! From memory this process was actually put together by Anthony R. Byrne, and that later became the Placement 2000 training course; a popular set training DVD's also followed! Real back to basics processes and methods that existed long before the computers and emails were common place. I can still remember using a filing cabinet to store candidate resumes. All you had to make some money was a telephone and your personality. Wow, how times have changed! To this day I am still ready for my 7 No's!
Wow! This brought back the early days in my career. MRI had everyone post this list above their desk at eye level so we wouldn't forget it. After years of brainwashing it now comes as second nature!
I have the Placement 2000 set somewhere. I use to review it yearly just to make sure I remembered the basics, especially with the onset of computers, cell phones, emails, etc. Haven't looked at it in a good 5 years.... might b e time to haul it out again!
I would add to #30 "on time".
Yup. This is it. Maybe add to #26- invoice client. Thanks for listing this. I am working on redesigning my marketing presentation and un brainwashing myself from my MRI training but this reminds me that the placement process stays intact. It's a good one and it works.
Tony was a dynamic teacher and well remembered for his red trouser braces.
Number One emphasises "Take a COMPLETE job order." I would add "that the Hiring Manager and Final Decision Maker sign-off"
This saves a whole lot of agony later in the process. A stitch in time saves nine.
"Recruit with the End Defined"
Gordon - "Recruit with the End Defined" = Great Quote
I refer to it often, thanks for posting.
