2011 New Year's Recruiting Resolutions

Happy New Year everybody!!  As I was Facebooking and LinkingIn my New Year optimizim, I started pondering my peers and curiously wondering about their New Year recruiting resolutions.  I have come up with a few resolutions that I would like to share (and keep).

1.  Spend more time calling (presenting), set away distractors (email, pins, blogs, tweets, etc., etc.) from the actual phone and compartmentalize those modes of communication to times before calling my list or after planning tomorrow call schedule.

2.  Plan my next day and week, then stick to my plan.

3.  Reply to 80% of candidate side emails and calls.

4.  Set aside two hours a week for professional development (assuming a 60 hour work week).

What are your New Years recruiting resolutions?  I would love to see them and listen to those comment on mine.

Thanks and Lets Rock 2011!!!

I like your #3!!  We actually set aside Fridays for follow up and what we call 'community service', which is probably similar to your 'side emails and calls'.  I was once asked a question, several weeks after a candidate interview, if the shoes she wore were appropriate for an interview.  Your shoes?  I am pretty sure I didn't respond to that email.  I'm not sure if I should feel bad about it or not.

Wow - someone else out there is trying to conquer the same challenges....email and time takers!
I am trying to instill- before I take action or respond, "Will this make money for me or the Company?"
Of course this does not apply to community service...but to our daily time management in moving the steps forward towards placement. Bon chance in 2011!
