Keeping in pace with the changing dynamics of recruitment, the talent search and acquisition process over the years has undergone a drastic change. Organizations no longer rely only on traditional database driven search approach. With the influx of social networks, talents from all sectors are looking for positive organizational reviews before joining to secure a better career prospect. More importantly the search for the right fit has gained pace.
Let us explore the three main recruitment trends which has emerged in the recent past and is reshaping the recruitment process.
As per a LinkedIn report, 70 million members (out of a total of 300 million) changed their jobs in 2014 which comes to a whooping 1,91,781 job change per day! With the ever increasing demand for productivity, employers today are determined to hire the right fit who can truly make a positive impact to their organizational workflow. To keep up with this demand, more and more search firms are relying on an innovative, streamlined and fast paced recruitment process which is robust and data driven. Leveraging the power of predictive analytics, SAAS based CRM solutions, social insights and employee referral programs, headhunters are ensuring that they select the right talent for a particular position.
It might sound bit surprising but as per the same LinkedIn report, professionals are getting increasingly attracted to smaller organizations (< 500 employees). Matthew Schreyer, president of talent acquisition firm Pervenio Search & Consultants, believes opportunity to grow, flexibility coupled with freedom to work independently and lesser bureaucratic barriers are some key reasons why professionals are flocking to smaller companies. Demand for professionals with an entrepreneurial mind sets have also increased. Hence, industries are looking to induct self motivated, innovative leaders who can learn, lead, collaborate and scale up.
It’s no secret that today’s online shoppers rely on online reviews to decide on a particular product purchase. Similarly, job seekers too are banking on corporate reviews and ratings to decide if it would be a correct decision to join a particular organization. They are exploring sites like Glassdoor, LinkedIn, Vault or looking at various social networks to know more about the company culture, benefits, growth prospects and work life balance. Hence, maintaining a proper web presence point, keeping updated social profiles, listening to what users are saying or interacting with users on the go has become much pertinent in today’s context.
