4 Different Types of Jobs That Let You Travel the World

Some people thrive in a structured, stable environment. They prefer routine in their workday, and they enjoy seeing the same people and sights. Others, however, prefer to get out and see the world. They want to meet new people and experience great cultures. If you fall into the latter group, you may be wondering what some of the top travel-oriented career options are. These are a few of the many wonderful ideas to consider.

Flight Attendant

Becoming a flight attendant is a smart job prospect to consider. Dozens of airlines serve customers around the world, and these airlines all hire flight attendants to tend to passengers’ needs. When you are not on a flight, you may have a layover in a new and exciting city. This gives you free time to explore new locations periodically, and the airline typically covers your food and hotel expenses while you are traveling.

Cruise Ship Crew

An alternative to a flight attendant is to work as a crew member on board a cruise ship. Cruise ships visit many exotic ports of call, and they often let their crew members off the ship for a few hours at various ports. The job options on a cruise ship vary dramatically. For example, you may work in the ship’s dining room, as a room steward, in the entertainment department or in various other areas.

Truck Driver

If you prefer to stay on land while you are off seeing the world, consider a position as a truck driver through some auto heavy rigid vehicle training. Some truck drivers operate locally, but there are also job opportunities that take you across the country. This gives you a great opportunity to see the countryside as well as urban areas while you are traveling.

Travel Blogger

These previous three job options all require you to work fairly regular hours, and they are usually full-time positions. While your opportunities to enjoy leisure time in different areas are prevalent, you may prefer a more leisurely way of life. Another great idea that may help you to enjoy the relaxed lifestyle that you desire is to become a travel blogger. As a blogger, you can choose your own destinations, and you can write about food, attractions, hotels and more. Keep in mind that you will only make money as a blogger through paid advertising on your blog site and through paid endorsements.

Many people do not travel as much as they would like because they feel that they cannot afford to travel or that they cannot take time off of work. You can see that transitioning to one of these excellent careers can help you to see the world while you are working.
