5 things that we think the recruiting world needs to fix!

  1. Think Quality of Hires!
We all know that companies want to improve the Hiring Quality of their organisation by improving the recruitment process and performance of new hires?

How can we fix this?

Well firstly gathering Hiring Quality data that highlights the factors that make for a successful hire. Ensure the data you can access is accurate and easy to use e.g. expressed as simple percentages. It will allow you to make informed business decisions, make better hiring decisions, increase retention and reduce reworks as well as get insight to improve future hires.

 

  1. Acquiring the right Quality DATA 
Companies can find it difficult to use and gather data to assess the performance of your recruitment teams, Hiring Managers and new hires.

How can we fix this?

By getting the right Quality data that tells you how well your talent acquisition team is performing and start to measure it. Start by finding out the attributes of the most successful Hiring Managers and utilise pre- and post- recruitment data to assess the performance of your hires.

Companies need to improve communication and collaboration between Recruiters and Hiring Managers.

How can we fix this?

We need a collaboration touchpoint that gets Recruiters and Hiring Managers working together quickly and effectively. Get them to agree and understand what they are looking for using real measurable criteria.

The next thing would be to define the process, develop a recruitment plan and agree selection criteria at the outset. It important to set recruitment goals and expectations for deadlines and milestones.

 

  1. Assess Candidate Quality Objectively
You need to look at the strengths and weaknesses of candidates more objectively using measurable data points.

How can we fix this?

Companies need to take their shortlisted candidates and score them against the criteria they mutually agreed. All interviewers will score candidates post- interview to create measurable data points. The more you and your team use this objective measurement progression, the better you can predict the attributes of successful candidates. Eventually you can develop algorithms to be able to predict and improve your Hiring Quality! 

 

5. Recruitment Process Transformation 
Your organisation requires a transformed recruitment process but you don’t want to change your ATS.

How can we fix this?

Firstly, let’s start and finish hiring with a structured process with clarity on who is responsible for each deadline. Define hiring criteria and the process requirements before uploading your ATS with an approved requisition. Recruitment teams need to assess performance in terms of Candidate and Process Quality. Then use this data to improve future hiring or to highlight good performance and share best practice
