Join me to quickly earn $30m - No, really!

Social NetworkingWant to make a quick $30m? Just start a social network!

Okay, getting a social network up and going successfully may not be "quick" but I came to realize back in April when RadioOne bought Community Connect - a social network that had been around since 1996 - for $38m, that we were going to see quite a bit more of this. And here we are just 60 days later and two more social networks have been scooped up for easy millions.

News hit this week that Disney was purchasing FanLib, a social site dedicated to showcasing fan fiction. Think [[Wikipedia]] meets MySpace with a focus on anything TV, book, or movie. Another big sale announced this week was the purchase of ThreeSF for a cool $30m by Electronic Arts. (pssst... heard of EA Bluebook yet?) ThreeSF was created by Shaun Fanning of [[NAPSTER]] fame. Haven't heard of ThreeSF? It's not too surprising unless you're a gamer and even then you'd be more likely to recognize it's creation, Rupture - a social site that automatically tracks information about what gamers do while "in game" and presents it in a way that makes it easy to follow online. (yes I'm a gamer, and yes - I like it.)

So what have we learned here? This blogger/gamer/social addict's take is that we need to get to work on a social network that we can market to a huge corporation for a quick $30m. Okay, I'm not greedy - I'll settle for $20m and a BMW.
Who will partner with me to create a social network that can take the world by storm? I'm thinking that based on today's top Google searches we need only find a way tie together the the lyrics to Black Velvet, powerball numbers, and adult video rentals to be wildly successful. Here at RecruiterGuy.net I'm not afraid! Who's with me?!
