Learn this and you'll be way ahead

Even though I don't watch much TV because of the rotting effect it has on your brain, I constantly watch, the show called “The Bourn Vita Quiz Contest,” a very successful knowledge based half hour programme hosted by Derek Obrien, for several years successfully now.

I guess is pretty popular with many kids as well, but this may just be an assumption, then what about the parents, the adults…You sit down to watch it and you will be amused at the way the young school going kids compete, and you will also be amazed with the number of things they have learnt. One question that pops up into your mind as an adult is, "Are You Smarter Than a 8th or 9th Grader or were you as smart at that age?" Believe me it is a tough question to answer.

The whole idea, apparently, is to entertain not by embarrassing the adult when contestants are quizzed on questions concerning Geography, History, English, Math, Science, Music, Entertainment, Sports etc. to get this show to different levels.

I admit, I am the most attentive when this show is on and have had the pleasure of having my kids along, so you know there is a direct competition @ home while watching this programme. To me the real value in seeing a few minutes of that show, there were several things that improved not only the general awareness, but the mental sharpness, the listening skills, the recall ability of things learnt so long ago etc. The secret though is to apply what is learnt and to practice mentally to remember things to enhance memory too.

I’ve seen, at social meetings and get-togethers, people with master's degrees not able to spell second- grade words is the validation that no matter how smart you are, if you don't use it, you lose it. And even more importantly, if you never knew it to begin with, you can't possibly use it.

This is an important distinction to never forget...

In that show, young school boys and girls can make many adults look stupid not because these adults are necessarily stupid (yes, some are), but because they haven't studied those topics in decades... while the kids have studied the material much more recently, and they do not want to be lost in competition.

This is really a metaphor for all of life.

Knowledge not used is lost...

When you never got schooled in what it takes to be massively successful at everything you do...

If you never got schooled in how to GET the most out of life...

If you never got schooled in how to be thrilled to greet each new day...

...you won't know how to do it.

Garbage in, garbage out. Nothing in, nothing out.

That's why I've witnessed what many people described as miracles...

When you do what you instructed to do and regularly read write and listen to the most influencing thoughts, beliefs and attitudes of the people who already easily do what you want to do, you can become like them in every way.

Using our totally effortless concentrated learning approach, you can eliminate defensiveness, gain courage in situations that currently make you soil yourself, you can get three times as many important things done as you do now, you can double and triple your knowledge or more, you can be so organized, it will astound you and everyone around you like your friends, you can go from the worst procrastinator to the most action oriented person within a radius of a 100 miles, you could become one who would be recognized as worthwhile. The things you could achieve is endless... Learn to learn something new everyday and pass the learning on to someone else to reinforce your learning.

That's a whole lot more impressive than memorizing the capital of a city on the world map, you'll never visit, don't you think?

Your brain was made by your creator to achieve... to be great.

But you have to choose greatness.

Let me know if I can be of any help!

Look to today. Procrastination is the art of

keeping up with yesterday.
