Sanjay Singh. who is the Vice President, Human Resources for Whirlpool in India. Observing regional differences Sanjay says this:
The biggest difference being that in Asia we hire not as much for the experience, but more for their capabilities and potential. This is a consequence of the phased emergence of industry in Asia for which candidates with relevant experience are often not available.
Shouldn't hiring for capabilities and potential be the norm? Experience only tells you where someone's been. It's no guarantee your "seasoned pro" won't turn out to be a dud, is it?
