Jimmy Shack Says:

We at Recruiter Life are privy to some of the most forward-thinking executive recruiters. These are not the obligatory “Knights of the Round Table” type that continuously write the same bland material... while they stroke each others’ egos.... No, these [recruiters in my video] are key players who are making lasting differences...

Super Recruiter, Dave Staats smacks him back:

It just ‘feels’ like the introduction was written by someone who has not done any recruiting.... I know at least 74 other recruiters.... who could have made the same video.... I have no idea who Jim might be referring to in his “Knights” comment.

Animal, you're a clown :) I love the way you pick and choose the incendiary comments and only post those :) It seems to me that perhaps there is a fight at the back of the school today between Recruiter Life and the Pinnacle Society. Ding, Ding!
The funny thing is that the content of the video is entry-level exec recruiter training. To Dave's point, the 'interviewer' may have posed Headhunter 101 questions, meaning they apparently really haven't recruited before! In my estimation, the Pinnacle Society is made up of Big Billers who are having very different conversations than these. I don't know how to become a part of the PS, but I've heard you have to bill $150 million USD over a 4-mth run.

In my estimation, the "Knights" he's referring to are PS members . . . but these Knights are actually helping one another and those of us trying to bill bigger . . . not sell bunk. And truthfully, being a great headhunter is about sticking to the basics (the fundamentals) . . . the game is won and lost in the trenches, blocking and tackling.

I've said this before, but the late Mike Mentzner taught me a profound business lesson: "The best health supplement in the world is water, but you won't hear about that much because you can't buy it out of the back of a magazine."

Joshua Letourneau, I didn't edit out anything meaningful. I'm a Digester, don't you know and I was merely capturing the essence for people who are too busy to read it all.

This is all starting to get a little too heavy for me. Are there teams here? Which one is the home court favorite? I want to be on the winning side!! Is it ERE vs. RB? Who's taking the bets and who is holding the money?

Jerry, you're at the wrong fight. This isn't the network fight here. This is the Jimmy Shaki vs The Experts fight. The fight you're looking for is here.

"Recruiting Animal", you pulled out a few lines - the lines that will get eyeballs or the lines that you think need digesting. Digest away there, Buddy. Digest away like a big old Leptin hormone :)

Are you saying that my calling a spade a spade isn't really a spade? I see Jesse Jackson's been giving back peddling lessons ;) The line "And Dave Staats smacks him back" says it all. That's not tossing a little bit of gas-O-line on the fire?

Call me crazy, but I thought the point of the post was to push a video. I mean, there is a big old video box there with a play button. And Dave basically summarized that the video was recruiting 101 with an intro by a non-recruiter.

I've never seen you post my whole name - you got me on that one. It would almost make it seem that we'd never spoken before.

Full name for emphasis. Every event contains many stories. And when a guy starts out promoting his stuff by trashing everybody else, that's a story according to Perry White. And, Great Caesar's Ghost, he's my mentor when it comes to reporting, chief.

Dave Staats is right

Funny - I see all these comments about "forward thinking" and "thought leadership" but in the end find very few things actually pushing the envelope of what we're doing out here. Finding different words and phrases to describe the same ole, same ole doesn't impress the majority of us.....does it?

Jerry, you mean you don't have a new acronym for us! :) We need to come up with one, like . . .
