I'm in the middle of reading a book by Tim Sanders called, Love is the Killer App (how to win business and influence friends).

It's been out since 2002 - I actually picked it up at Half Price Books (which tells you a little about my personality). But here's the best part, it's autographed by Sanders on the front page -

"To Freddie - Let Love Rule!" - Tim Sanders

Too cool. Freddie, if you are still out there, "I love you, Man!"

Anyway, the book is terrific. I've since picked up two other books by Sanders and I can't wait to read study them (one of Sanders' quote is: paperbacks are meant to be read...hardbacks are meant to be studied).

So, I'm studying Tim's book and he's teaching me to be a lovecat. I'm not going to spoil it for you, but Tim's helped me better understand his definition of "love business:"

- the act of intelligently and sensibly sharing your intangibles with your bizpartners

How this is accomplished is, well, the rest of the story and focuses on 1) knowledge, 2) network, and 3) compassion.

Can't recommend this book highly enough, and it's helped me understand what makes people like Dave Mendoza tick. As far as I know, Tim Sanders doesn't know Dave Mendoza. But he pegged Dave when talking about how one maintains his/her value:

"Love is the selfless promotion of the growth of the other."

Here's to being a lovecat.
