RecruiterGuy likes TwitHireRight around July 24th jobs started heading to a new board - a board where job descriptions are only allowed to be 142 characters or less. So in a world where employers are complaining that job boards don't typically give them enough freedom, one wonders why an employer might choose this one. Why would an employer want to post on what could quite possibly be the most limiting job board in existence today?

Could it be because it has the potential to become the most viral job board in existence today? Yeah, I said it - the most viral.

TwitHire.com kicked off it's open acceptance of job postings and found a rather favorable response. The posting process is relatively simple and job seekers seem to be interested based on just a few searches conducted and from my own analytics reports as of this morning. To post, Recruiters need only send a quick 'tweet' to your good buddy, @TwitHire. (Does some of this sound like a foreign language? Quick and easy catch up is here.) The format guidelines are pretty simply laid out on the main page of TwitHire but do take a bit of attention to detail. Once the message is sent and approved it's found on the TwitHire job board where anyone can view it and follow whatever uri was sent along with it in an effort to take job seekers to an "apply now" page.

Out of the gate TwitHire offers only 3 job categories to it's users - Design, Programming, and Other. This tiny selection of job cats isn't stopping anyone that's interested, though. As of this morning several Sales, Gaming, and even Recruiting jobs could be found in 'Other.' In addition to new categories this RecruiterGuy would like to see a search feature and a 'retweet' option - both available on the actual job board itself. Odds are it's on the drawing board if this newcomer is serious about becoming a player.

So here is where it gets a bit viral... You see, if someone is following the person that sends the original 'tweet', they'll see it. Should they find the job posting interesting enough to send to a friend they need only 'Retweet' the posting either directly to a friend or to all of their followers. This of course brings us full circle to that shampoo commercial again where they'll tell some people and they'll tell some people and... again - you get the idea.

Not to be one to miss a new thing - and understanding that RecruiterGuy is a social x addict - we threw a few postings out to TwitHire. The results at a glance? Almost 50 job seekers moving through the posting on TwitHire to the application page. Of course, it's too early to swear by any quality of candidate, but you'd be hard pressed to convince me that it'd be any less than any other job board out there - on the up side, these job seekers are apt to be considerably more savvy online, I'd say.
