Embedded Software Engineer - C/C++, Linux, Electro-Mechanical

Job Description:

Client is seeking a talented and motivated embedded software engineer to work on the design and implementation of embedded systems firmware for a complex material handling systems deployed in large-scale customer warehouse solutions. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in computer science, controls for complex electro-mechanical system designs, embedded operating systems, possess good communication skills, and enjoy problem solving both independently and in team settings.
This position reports to the VP of Hardware Engineering.
Responsibilities:

* Contributing to the design, implementation, test and documentation of various embedded software modules.
* Verification that components and processes are scalable, reliable, and maintainable.
* Supporting product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments.

Requirements:

* BS / MS Computer Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
* 2-5years of experience developing embedded software for complex electro-mechanical systems.
* Thorough understanding and use of technical principles, theories, and concepts of software design.
* Extensive experience programming in C/C++ or equivalent for real-time systems.
* Embedded Linux experience is a plus.
* Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting, testing/analyzing to establish root cause, and proposing solutions.
* Commitment to rigorous testing practices.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Strong organizational and planning skills.
* Customer focus.
* Desire and energy to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
