It’s Monday, which means it’s time for a quick roundup of interesting news from this past weekend.

The message I took from one news item over the weekend was this:

If it’s an effective marketing and recruiting strategy for bin Laden why isn’t it an effective one for many professional Recruiters?

First and foremost, please note that I’m not trying to make light of terrorism and its culture of death and destruction. The fact that I even have to offer this disclaimer seems absurd to me, but then again we do live in a politically correct world after all.

Besides, if Don Imus and, most recently, Will Smith can be victims of anti-free speech warriors then I thought it might be appropriate here.

Back to the story I referenced.

Did anyone else read about Al-Qaida offering cell phone videos to help address their recruiting challenges? If not you can read about it here.

Al-Qaida video messages of Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri can now be downloaded to cell phones. As of Saturday, there are now 8 previously recorded videos.

How many recruiting firms (let alone Fortune 500 organizations) have even 1 video in their arsenal? We all know that this technology exists, but why are we so reluctant to use it?

While Paramount Recruiting Partners, LLC still has not produced our first video yet we have taken the time to research this new media and have made plans to develop one in 2008. Can the same be said for your organization?

At the very least, if videos make you uncomfortable there’s always Text Messaging.

Bottom line, as we begin 2008 maybe it’s time we turn over a new leaf and look at new and innovative ways that we can reach professionals who are within our target market.

I know that PRP will.
