I wanted to send out a Monday note to everyone on RecruitingBlogs.com about some things.

We have two great events coming up. The first is in Las Vegas next week and the other is in Dallas March 6th.

What is interesting about Vegas event is that almost all of the sponsorship money was from members of RecruitingBlogs.com. I really appreciate the generosity from Ben Yoskovitz and standoutjobs.com, George Vasu from StaffingForce, Mark Newman from HireVue and Bill Bargas from Diversity.com who are making this event free.

The interesting thing about the Dallas Event is that it is being organized by two active RecruitingBlogs.com members. Dennis Smith has been a close friend of mine since the beginning and Amanda Papp who is just a ball of energy. I am happy she is on the case. If you are interested in attending the Dallas event, please get in touch with Amanda. She’ll fill you in on the details.

I want to continue to put on these small evening networking parties so if you are interested in helping organize a local event, please send me a message about it. My goal is 10 in the next 4 months.

Over the past few weeks, it has become very obvious to me that there are a number of people out there with things to sell to recruiters. When RecruitingBlogs.com was set up, a marketplace was not in my top 10 things I was looking for. However, I know I need to set up some kind of system to allow this type of thing. It just drives me crazy when I see this stuff mixed in with regular posts about recruiting. I am open to suggestions on this one.

I have also added a new question on everyone profile page. It asks what kind of networking are you open to. I am hoping that clarifies to some degree what you hope to get out of possible relationships you can develop on RecruitingBlogs.com. I also hope it cuts down on irrelevant comment spam on your personal page. Please note that it is easy to delete unwanted and inappropriate comments. There is a red X beside every comment and you can just click the X.

I also want to publicly thank Dave Mendoza for opening up his network to RecruitingBlogs.com I also want to thank everyone else who has invited people into RecruitingBlogs.com – There are lots of you who have invited people and I am thanking you right now. I really appreciate it.

There are three things I would like to close off with that you may be interested in.

1. Gerry Crispin is doing a webinar Feb 27 on Source of Hire – What 2007 Results Offer To Your 2008 Plans

2. HRmarkter has a new Ebook you can download for free on Marketing to HR with Traditional and Web 2.0 Integrated Strategies

3. I wanted to give a plug to ZoomInfo – They sponsored last year's best blog awards and I highly recommend trying them out for free. Here is a link to get a free password to ZoomInfo for a period of time.

I'd love to see a repository we could go to that should have all current products. It would be passive, not collect our info and may or may not include user comments. It'd have categories like ATSs JobBoards, Networking sites, BusCard collection companies...whatever. Users could submit new ones as discovered. You can buy my dinner when you sell THAT one :-) Also, there may BE one of these already but if I don't know about it, then it's not being done right ;-)

I've already created a list of ATS vendors. This is the most comprehensive list I have seen...and it was done nearly automatically with Broadlook software.

Here is the research:

That's cool... Love to see it combined with the other categories of "People who want money from headhunters" I guess would be my choice for main menu. Donato's list is the longest I have seen. I looked for my software deskflow from www.workflowint.com which I consider the best product I have seen but it missed the list. Not complaining but it's maybe justification for the proposed repository to have user-add capability...

I am a few days away from starting the official Broadlook blog which will be separate from my personal site: www.iDonato.com. When it is up, I'll post the list. The fact the it is a blog, (probably wordpress), we'll allow comments, that's a start. I created the list since it was one of the top things people ask me advice on. Since I always remain vendor neutral, it seemed a good solution. If you have other ideas, post them when it goes online next week at blog.broadlook.com.

Dennis - Same here, my March travel won't get me near Dallas on the 6th however. I may be making a trip to Dallas in April though, I'll let you know.
