Are you ready for Google’s mobile algorithm change?

Google algorithm change April 2015

With mobile Internet usage exceeding PC usage Google is taking steps to improve users mobile experience online. On April 21st Google will be rolling out a major change to their search algorithm. The use of ‘Mobile-friendliness’ as a ranking signal will be increased impacting search results in all languages worldwide.

The importance of a mobile friendly website in recruitment isn’t a new topic, with more and more candidates using smart devices to find and apply for positions it is important your site is optimised.

Google’s imminent update only increases the importance of a mobile optimised website. The update will lower the ranking of non-optimised sites and raise those that are mobile enabled. If less candidates find your site it is likely less placements will be made.

To check if your website is ready for the imminent algorithm changes you can run a ‘Mobile-Friendly Test’ using a free Google tool. If your site doesn’t meet the mobile criteria you can also download a Google guide on what to change.
