I was working the last 6 months onsite for one of my clients. The company was 2 hours from home so I lived in the Silicon Valley near my client's site and came home for the week-ends. While I loved the work, I can say the working away from home can be less than convenient. I had a great home-away-from home at the Homewood Suites in Santa Clara. Ask for Doyle if you are ever there.

I finished my contract and I am now working back at the home office, trying to get back into the routine. I sure love the commute down the hall way though. Wahoo! Sorry, if I was a bit out of touch the last 6 months. I was really into my work.

My husband is a bit nervous that I can make a living at recruiting these days. I am positive I can! I know times are tough and everyone is laying off, but there is still a need for those highly trained, qualified engineers, scientists, etc. and I love the search to find them.

That is my optimism on day one, back at contignency and retained searches as a self-employed recruiter. Let's see if I feel the same 6 months from now. :-)

Good Luck Sherry! There is business out there, you just may need to dig around to find it. :)
