Best and Worst Places to Find Healthcare Talent

Demand for healthcare jobs continues to rise. Since July 2009, the number of jobs posted online increased 40%, according to data from WANTED Analytics. Over the past 30 days, about 906,725 healthcare job listings appeared online.

If this momentum continues, healthcare demand may surpass 1 million healthcare ads in just one month. As the competition for talent grows, it will become harder to find qualified candidates. To help you form your recruiting strategy, we reviewed the best and worst places to find healthcare talent. The rankings below are based on our Hiring Scale which scores positions from 1 to 99, with 99 indicating hardest-to-recruit.

The Hiring Scale factors in supply, demand, location, unemployment rates, salary, among other factors to determine a score. If you're recruiting in one of the hardest-to-recruit places, you may need to come up with other ways to promote your position and build your candidate pipeline, such as advertising more heavily, working with local schools and organizations, or recruiting in areas with more favorable recruiting conditions.
