Best free websites to search resumes and how to effectively conduct resume searches

It's no secret that today's recruiting has wholly moved online. However, a lot of recruiters I meet still lack some basic online recruiting skills. They usually know only about Monster or CareerBuilder, the two most overpriced websites for recruiting. They post on one of these two websites, spending thousands, and then are surprised that the quality or amount of candidates aren't to their expectations. Below are some two of the free websites I use to search resumes and source candidates:

  1. ResumeRobin.com Free Resume Search - the reason I put this website first is, because, once you get your account approved, you can view direct emails and phone numbers for talent, FREE. That's right, totally free. No other recruiting website I know does this. The variety and depth of candidates is impressive, since they pull resumes off of a technical recruiting website AceTiger.com that's also in their network. The website also adds a photo to a lot of profiles, which is useful.
  1. Indeed Free Resume Search - Indeed can be quite effective, however, I do find quite a high number of unresponsive candidates and their search function is sometimes difficult to use. However, it is also free, so I am not complaining. Indeed has become one of the, if not the leader in online recruitment, and for good reason - posting jobs with them is based on a pay-per-click basis, so it can be much cheaper than with traditional recruiting websites.

I Hope these links and techniques help you achieve better recruiting results!
