2013 is a very special year for LinkedIn…the company started the new year off by breaking the 200-million member mark.
Now while that’s great news for the company and its shareholders, as well as many of its business-owner members, it can mean a bit of a challenge for you as a job seeker.
The good news is that as a member of LinkedIn, you have a HUGE audience.
The bad news is, you also face a TON of competition.
So how do you tap into the vast pool of employers on LinkedIn and cut back on the competition?
Simple – the same way you approach dating.
Just because employers advertising jobs on LinkedIn are searching out candidates for professional reasons, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t follow the same rules as online dating.
Your profile picture can change everything…fast.
In fact, as a veteran recruiter, I have to tell you that some of the things I’ve seen in LinkedIn profile pictures is nothing short of incredible. This isn’t Facebook or Twitter.
When you come to LinkedIn, you’d better come in with your A-game…the last thing HR managers and recruiters want to see are pictures of your cat, see you out at a wedding or of you flashing gang signs.
Very Special Announcement:
If you’re a regular reader, you’re aware of the fact that here at Resume Target, we’re big believers in using LinkedIn as much as possible to enhance your job hunting efforts.
I admit, it can be a bit tricky because you never know what might turn a potential employer off when they see your picture, but there is a way to stay safe.
Recently, we ran an experiment and developed a way of optimizing your profile picture you want to use for your LinkedIn profile. This tweaking process has been shown to improve the first impression you make to potential employers.
We’ll eventually be charging somewhere between $5 to $10 for the service, but we’re giving it away to the first 100 readers who respond – for FREE!
I was going to announce this offer in tomorrow’s post, but I’m really excited about it, so I’m giving you a head start.
So if you want the crucial profile picture enhancement that gets results, simply pick out three to five of your best pictures, and send them by email in JPEG format (size must be at least 250 X 250 pixels) to: LinkedinPhoto@ResumeTarget.com
I can’t wait for you to see the results this tweak will bring.
