Sourcing is all about qualifications and reach.  You can’t build great teams without the qualifications that are needed to get the job done, so the focus on qualifications is warranted.

In the process though, you are going to run into candidates that have most of the qualifications but are missing something.  People are dynamic and there is a lot that goes into what a person brings to the table.  Sometimes the candidate that has most of the qualifications is a significantly better hire than the candidate with all of the qualifications.  At this point you have to go with your gut.  If going with your gut leads you to decisions that work out really well, you need to go with your gut more.

Unless you have a very trained "gut" (highly perfected intuition based on large numbers of relevant experiences), I suggest go with your "head"
