Great teams don't just happen. Сreating a successful team is possible only when the right people with the right skills come together. However, in today’s competitive market, simply hiring top talent isn't enough. Knowing your players' strengths and coaching with the right management styles will help keep your team members empowered and on top of their game.

Hire Wisely

The talent pool of candidates for the current job market seems to be transitioning from your average backyard swimming pool to the ocean that covers 71 percent of the Earth’s surface.  Ok, maybe not that dramatic of a transition, but it is becoming significantly easier to get lost in the search for great talent.  So how do employers recruit the talent they are looking for and actually hire the “right” people for their team? Building a successful dream team has several components, but you can’t build a dream team without individuals that are enthusiastic, positive, and hard working.  These characteristics can be picked up and acknowledged by the team during the job interview process.

Hiring people that will contribute to the success of the team and the company itself is one thing (and a great thing), but hiring people that have that drive to want to contribute and see results is vital to building a dream team.

Establish and Maintain Relationships from Day One

The first day of work is just as daunting as the first day of school.  Where am I going to sit?  Who will I eat lunch with?  Will I like it here?  We have all felt that anticipation of having no clue how the first 8 hours of our day will go, and if it will be a foreshadow for the next few years of our lives.  Those are some pretty intimidating thoughts, so it is the responsibility of the team to ensure that the new and current team members feel welcome and that they are part of something bigger.

Reward Success = Happy Team

There is a reason why everyone has heard the phrase “work hard, play hard,” and that reason is simply because it is known that motivation drives success, and success leads to rewards.  When a team shares a common goal knowing that if it is achieved they will gain something from it, the team is more incentivized to motivate themselves and each other.  This is not rocket science, but more like a simple math equation (no calculus required).

Motivation + Incentive + Hard Work = Goals Achieved, Reward and Happy Team
