Sourcing on Lesser Known Sites: Recruiting With Klout

Klout is a website and mobile app that uses social media analytics to rank its users according to

online social influence via the "Klout Score", which is a numerical value between 1 and 100. In

determining the user score, Klout measures the size of a user's social media network and correlates

the content created to measure how other users interact with that content. Klout is known in the

community but few have tried to source in it. Well to do this without worry you need go no further

than into your bag of tricks and pull out an old tried and true tool, called x-raying.

So to source within Klout you simply need to create an x-ray string, like the one below.

site:klout.com java

If you run the string above in google you will get the results below

If you need more info on X-raying see my blog post http://www.recruitingblogs.com/profiles/blogs/seeing-what-is-really...

Thanks, Dean.  I ran the string "site:klout.com ruby; rails; html5; agile" and found a few people I didn't know about yet... quite surprised that my meager Klout score was higher than theirs, but I guess that's OK, too.
