How would an Ideal Applicant Tracking System look like ?

Despite the widespread availability of applicant tracking and resume management solutions, none of
them really solves the hiring problem for businesses. Almost all the solutions come with high price
tags, and are bloated with features like ERP integration and succession planning that are irrelevant to
alot of businesses, leaving them with no choice but to rely on informal methods to manage job applications.

In my opinion an applicant tracking system should:
-Help you organize applications and resumes with speed and simplicity.
-Be comprehensive enough to help you organize, sort and filter candidates in order to find the right candidates quickly and easily.
-Save time, money and never gives you headaches.

What are your comments about that........??

What kind of features would you like to see in your ATS ?

- u can also use it for Employee Referals by making its seperate section,
- for sourcing by creating leads,
- for entering interview feedbacks for the candidates who go through the interview process.

I shall think of more and update

I want all the features listed .....and one that won't break the bank! Right now I am using Zoho People. It is doing pretty much what I need - could use a few tweaks and more in the way of metrics, but for what I need currently - it is great. Zoho.com - it is free for up to 10 users.

Happy Friday,

Great post. I would like to reinforce your insight on simplicity. I have found that some of the largest and most feature-rich application tracking systems lose out to other “smaller” solutions. The main reason is the larger solutions don’t always work the way HR professionals and recruiters work.

In addition, I've written a white paper entitled "Considerations for ATS Selection." It covers the most common features and services I believe should be in an ATS.
