Well we are allbenefiting from the recent VAT reduction and the rest of Darlings wonderfulmeasures to repair our damaged economy – do you feel better off? Looking at thecurrent job market businesses clearly are not yet feeling confident aboutreaching the end of the downturn.

But how does the currenteconomic climate affect the job seeker?

Firstly it is verytough out their for many industries and roles. Does this affect online jobseeking?

Hell yes, it changesthe entire seeking journey. Moreand more job seekers need to search wider parameters. This means consideringcommuting further or considering jobs that are outside of the core comfortzone.

It puts the job seekerin a position to “browse” and the job search web sites are not great forbrowsing. This forces the user to perform more searches to find what they need.

The result is not justincreased effort and frustration for the jobseeker, but job sites with overinflated search counts and page impressions. When looking at figures theadvertiser must focus back on unique visits – which is a buck in the trend fromlooking at searches.

David I just recently found Indeed.co.uk and have signed up my site for PPC featured jobs. If you have not seen it there is a very useful facility for jobseekers to locate jobs using their own postcode.

Worhound and SimplyHired offer a similar service and unfortunately Indeed has no affiliate scheme.

I think these aggregator sites are good for traffic generation.
