11:57am Maureen Sharib Hey Animal you're here -I just sent you your wake up msg...
11:57am Recruiting Animal Why didnt you come to my
show.
11:57am Maureen Sharib I did.
11:58am Jason Gorham Hey animal I thought I was going to be a guest?
11:58am Recruiting Animal You are. Wd you have been a guest on short notice? I cd have had you yesterday. Next open spot is late Nov.
12:00pm Maureen Sharib Welcome everyone to the MagicMethod Phone Sourcing Classroom Chat! Today we have a special guest - Jason Gorham of Sharkstrike - and he's going to answer our questions about his new sourcing tool. I hope you all visited the tutorial.
12:00pm Jason Gorham Tim we are talking about resume sourcing and utilizing search strings
12:01pm Tim Todd Good as always
12:01pm Jason Gorham I have done a little prep work to get the ball rolling - We are going to be sourcing for these three jobs:
First
12:01pm Jason Gorham
Second.
12:01pm Maureen Sharib Jason, before we begin, can you explain what is different about your new tool?
12:01pm Jason Gorham Sure no problem Essentially we have taken the work out of having to build and keep search strings Whereas our tool has over 70,000 job keywords and we have them broken into job categories so instead of having to learn how to create search strings or doing keyword research for strings or bookmarking strings you have created we put it all in one place So a user can come in do keyword research create campaigns - move keywords into those and then click a button to build a search string - tools like infogist and airs do this but what I have found is that their process doesn't work that well or doesn't produce enough results so by going straight to google and getting the results you get more benefit
12:04pm Maureen Sharib And yours produces a lot more?
12:05pm Jason Gorham yes correct
12:05pm Maureen Sharib Anyone have any questions before he begins?
12:05pm Jason Gorham after you run a string you can use a product like egrabber to get the results
12:05pm Maureen Sharib Is it costly?
12:05pm Jason Gorham Nope We offer a 3-day free trial
12:05pm Maureen Sharib Cool. We like that.

"You don't always have to go through the gatekeeper to hustle more names at the same company. If you've pulled down the directory, simply plow through each one individually until you get signals that they're on to you, or, you fatigue." ~ Gary Jong

12:11am Maureen Sharib *Would you rather be a: Stream fisher Lake fisher Deep-sea fisher? Let's talk about the advantages/disadvantages of each - does everyone get the analogy between sourcing and fishing?
12:13am Ryan Haire this article seems more about recruiting though..... as a sourcing component, I'm not trying to really talk to anyone
12:13am Maureen Sharib I see what you're saying - good point. But as sourcers do you think we run the risk of exhausting a resource? What happens when we give too many out of one company on a job when we have several companies to target?
12:14am Ryan Haire we run the risk of exhausting the gatekeeper....
12:14am Maureen Sharib I think we run other risks...see that?
12:15am Ryan Haire yeah... whenever I'm recruiting contacting multiple people out of a company I string it out over a period of time
12:15am Maureen Sharib What if we have a 50 name job and ten companies on the job? We get hit in the ass on the first call and the gatekeeper gives us 50 names (it happens) - what do we do?
