So we are going to take a short break on our series on lesser sights to address 2 issues, 1 is meta search engines the other is
starting Searches narrow or broad. First up Meta search engines.
MetaSearch engines are search engines that allow you to search multiple search engines from one engine. Example is Zuula.
However there are different kinds of MetaSearch engines. There are Micro Metasearch engines and Macro MetaSearch engines.
There are also web based and desktop based. For now lets look at Micro and Macro. Micros Metasearch engines are engines that allow you to search many search engines form one main location but you can only do one at a time. That means you can search vie google or Big or Yahoo but not all 3 at once. An example of a Micro would be Quitura, which while you can search Yahoo, Google, Bing and others you can only do one at a time. Macro MetaSearch engines allow you to search multiple engines at once and show the results from all of them. Example of that is Imetasearch.
Now as to Desktop or web, that is simple Web means they are web based, example Zulla. Desktop means they are on your Desktop, example Imetasearch.
