Mobile Recruiting ... All The Kids Are Doin' It

Mobile recruitment is on the rise right now. Many companies have already realized that they can hire competent employees through their mobile phones. This is expected if we consider that in America, one-third of the people own at least one mobile device. Also, two-thirds of mobile phone users use their smartphone for browsing the Web and sending tweets on Twitter, and about half of them are known to use their phones in the restroom. Thus, companies nowadays should harness the power of mobile networks to secure great talent.

The simplest mobile recruitment campaign is sending text messages. First, a company can obtain a list of mobile phone numbers. Then the owners of those phone numbers receive text messages from the company regarding positions they can apply for, the requirements for each position, and application instructions. Usually application is through the Internet, so interested applicants can use their smartphones to apply immediately. Text messaging satisfies the basic requirement of mobile recruiting: hiring employees. It takes only a small cost for companies to incorporate this feature into their hiring practices.

They can even tell potential hires to update their details in real time through their mobile phones - a process that involved sending new resumes before. If a recruit needs information about your company, you can send it to him or her in real time too. If you are the person in charge of hiring, you can easily carry out these actions wherever you are. All you need is a mobile phone and the contact details of your possible recruits.

Mobile recruiting has other surprising benefits. For instance, if you want to find talented people at any part of the world, you can do it. Once you find a talented person somewhere, you can talk to him or her about various opportunities, regardless of where you are. You can even develop company-specific apps. Through these apps, mobile phone users can access company information, latest news, and job openings along with the requirements. Some apps allow phone users to fill up application forms using their phones. That way, they do not have to find a computer with an Internet connection to apply for jobs.

For your company, mobile recruitment is convenient in other ways. When mobile phone users wake up, the first electronic device they often use is not the computer but the mobile phone. Thus they can immediately find out whether there are any employment opportunities for them if they take advantage of mobile recruitment. Moreover, text messages can be personalized so they have higher response rates compared to other recruitment methods. Finally, because text messages are private, potential recruits can feel safe when communicating with you. That can improve your company's reputation.

With many bandwagons in the business field, mobile recruitment is one into which you should jump. You can make millions of people connected to your company through their mobile phones. You can have access to a large talent pool and candidates will marvel at the convenience, so both will benefit.
