Today I enjoyed being on @BillBoorman radio show as a guest speaker. (thanks Bill) Chatting on the show with @FelixWetzel, @SiteAdvisor, @AlanWhitford and the others inspired me to write more on the topic. More than that, it inspired me to shoot my first video blog, which will become a regular feature and a Video Podcast available in iTunes.

So what is all this mobile stuff about?

It is simple, it is having exposure on mobile phone. It is extending jobseeker services beyond the desktop and communicating with your jobseekers via the mobile.

I know you may have been doing this with text for years, but the difference as @FelixWetzel pointed out is the jobseeker has the power. This is key to any successful online service.

I hear you say – is this not just Apple based Hype?

No, it is not. Ignore it as your cost!
The web ready mobile device has been about for well over 10 years, with the first smart phone being available in 1996 –the Nokia 9000. But it as only been the last few years that the devices have developed to be user friendly and accessible beyond the Geek.

Many people have owned a web ready mobile in the last 10 years and have never used it for web browsing, or tried it once and never again!

The infrastructure has come a long way with 3G and Edge now providing access faster than dial up modems.
Mobile recruiting is now developed beyond just a Mobile optimised site – known as M Site – we now have AppStore from Apple and a various other versions from different phone manufactures.
Mobile Web has arrived, to help you learn more about mobile recruiting I have put together my first Video Blog post.
The video is in two parts – part one is below. I hope you enjoy it. I look forward to your feedback – on the content not my stubble!
