“MOST”-Part 2!!! Getting the “MOST” out of yourself, Multitasking!!

“MOST”-Part 2!!!

Getting the “MOST” out of yourself,

Multitasking!!

So this is part #2, pillar 1 on the “MOST” technique.

Pillar 1, Multitasking, the ability to do more than one thing at the same time. When most people hear the word multitask they think 2-3 things at once. However in my world it could mean as many as 15+ things at once or more.

For the purposes of this post we are going to call any activity we are performing a process. So in my case I have 8 computers and when I am working I usually have all 8 going and each performing at least 2-5 processes each, and I bounce from process to process. I mean let’s remember if the process we are performing is a search there are what I call down times with in the process. A downtime would be the time after you have put in your search parameters and enter search. There is usually a few seconds of downtime before the search results are pulled up, why wait, move on and get another process started.

Now I understand not everyone has 8 computers, but the idea works with even 1 computer, just use multiple windows and have multiple processes going at once. In other words “Multitask”.

As I said in earlier posts all the pillars are interconnected. So while 10+ processes seem like allot, and you might worry about keeping it all straight and QC, if you use and learn all 4 pillars you will have no problem handling more processes than you would have thought. Of course this is another one of those learned but cannot be learned, as you can learn to multitask to a point but without some inherent ability you will be capped. I cannot guarantee everyone will handle 15+ at once, but if you learn and use all the pillars you will handle more than you can now.
