Not Every L.I.O.N. Knows How To Hunt...

LIONOkay, recruiters... it's time we addressed it. It's time that we talked a little bit about what it means to use networking sites (specifically LinkedIn) to effectively ‘connect' and recruit. Hey - somebody's got to tell a handful of you that are stumbling and bumbling your way through it that you're giving others a bad wrap - and creating some hesitation by some to speak to anyone with the word "recruiter" in their profile.

Just because you're a LION, doesn't mean you're a hunter.
There's nothing wrong with recruiters that are LinkedIn Open Networkers but here's the thing - last I checked, no one's name is "***L.I.O.N.*** 4,000+ joe @ hotmail.com."
If it is, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say your parents are... different... and cruel.
You're not saving anyone a click or encouraging other professional networkers or savvy job seekers to reach out to you - it just isn't happening. Of course, if you'd like to prove me wrong and have received an email that begins, "Dear Mr. @hotmail.com, I saw that you have over 4,000 connections and would like to pass my resume to you..." and you developed a relationship and landed a hire... I'd love to hear from you.

But wait... there's more.
