As recruiters, I think our jobs are to put quality butts in chairs affordably and on time. Other things we're often encouraged to do/consider take us away from our core mission. One of these things is"employee engagement/passion" aka "employees giving a ****". ISTM that if you want employes to "give a****":
1) They should find their work interesting, significant, and/or well.compensated.
2) They should really enjoy the company they're with- boss, peers, environment, etc.
3) You scare them so much that NO "giving a***"isn't a viable option.
