Recruiting with Courage during a depression oops I mean recession

The unemployment lines are long, the phone is busy, and resumes seem to drop into a black hole--- Seem familiar? Well for all you HR, Recruitment or Sales professionals that may not have seen times like this before remember this... The labor market will improve, the Global economy will follow and you will make a difference if you act with courage and integrity. People, Candidates and Businesses don't only remember you when you are hiring and cruising in good times, they remember what you do or didn't do in the most difficult of times.

So if you are feeling blue, and the reqs just aren't opening up or all those great candidates are only hearing bad news from you...remember this. Treat each and everyone you touch with respect, honesty and sincerity. If you can't help, let them know that. If you can, then do. It takes courage but courage is rewarded with the knowledge you tried.

If you are on the other side of the search, and you are seeking a job. Remember the same is true, if you need support ask for it, but also gather your strength look ahead and at your accomplishments honestly. Above all else, remember your integrity and reputation is more important than a dollar is ever worth.

Together we will survive, flourish and grow...so keep that connectivity, strengthen your resolve, and Be good to each other.

Happy Recruiting,

Sue
