This week we’ll be talking about job advertisements, HR 2.0, failing forward, recruiting assumptions, Monster’s Employment Index and the best April Fool’s Jokes of 2011.

Here are the articles our that interested us this week (in no particular order), enjoy!:

Interesting post on making your job application unique to help candidates self select themselves out of the process.  I think steps in your recruiting process like this can help you identify the top qualified candidates, however, there is a happy medium between the two.

Great infographic from Sirona Says.  Definitely worth a look.

Failing Forward by John Gordon (@JonGordon11)

Great concept to live by and some good personal examples.

4 Common Assumptions Challenged by Kevin Wheeler (@KWheeler)

I agree with Kevin on all 4 of these especially that Technology without strategy won’t get you anywhere in recruiting.

Monster Employment Index Continues to Grow: March Index Sees 9% Yea... by Monster (@Monster_WORKS)

Some interesting data and good news on US based employment.

The Funniest April Fool’s Jokes by Mashable (@Mashable)

Some funny April Fool’s jokes from the tech world.  Really liked the LinkedIn and Google Autocompleter.
