Hello,

I am writing an article on references for my newsletter and thought it would be fun to poll other recruiters. I would like to hear your thoughts regarding best practices for references. Specifically, how do you make sure you are legally compliant, do you have set questions you ask (i.e. behavioral, technical, etc), do you allow confidential references, do you accept letters of recommendations in place of references, how long do you keep reference data on file, etc.
