This is the day 1 Purple Squirrel Tracks. These included; How to go From Average Joe to Sourcing Pro by Matt LeBlanc and Smart Recruiting by Amy Miller.
First up How to go From Average Joe to Sourcing Pro by Matt LeBlanc. SO first up a realization all sourcers need to know; “hiring managers could care less where food candidates come from.” After that first up Boolean, and a crash course in it. Specifically And, ORs, or Nots. NOTE “Research Comes First”. Have a plan example do your research list all the Skills, Certifications, Employers, Titles etc. Do your Boolean string, the example used was ("view my resume" OR "download my resume" OR "resume of") AND c# AND asp.net AND "sql server" AND (developer OR development). Great string uses skills, titles, and magic word “resume”. Best of all set up for the social age, by using natural language to look for resumes in the ("view my resume" OR "download my resume" OR "resume of"). Way to think like a candidate. TRICK TRICK TRICK search in images once you have done a google Boolean search. After that more Boolean filetype commands, Site command, tilde, etc. You can find a lit of all the operators at List of Boolean operators. TOOLS TOOLS TOOLs; Google Custom Search, and Sourcehub.
Next up Smart Recruiting by Amy Miller. Long story this is about partnerships with your Hiring Managers (HM) and their teams, leveraging expertise and networks throughout staffing and the HMs team. Getting the HM and his team engaged and working with staffing, Great concept and it really works, see blog post on "Bring the Hiring Manager Closer to Staffing (HMCS) Methodology"
