Dave Staats loves these calls.
HR Director from a company we’ve had no relationship with in the past called about 2 of our people leaving too many messages for their people. I got a 13-minute lesson on “After you try a certain number of times and get no response you should know they are not interested.”
Great and clever phone sourcing tip included in this piece - do you see it?

You've got to love that! This HR Director offers up additional names as they chastise, really? That is GREAT! This gave me a giggle this morning, thanks Maureen

From the movie, "The Patriot":
MARTIN (Mel Gibson): Lord Cornwallis is brilliant. His weakness is that he knows it.
GABRIEL (Keith Ledger): Father?
MARTIN: Pride is his weakness.

The men consider that.

DELANCEY: Personally, I'd would prefer stupidity.
MARTIN: Pride will do.

I work in an internal function... I occasionally do job board word searches for my company name.. just out of curiosity and to check the quality of our ads.. however once, I noticed my company name came up in a third party agency ad. Actually calling for people who had worked for us... I was incensed... I picked up the phone to go through this poor unfortunate soul, but stopped myself... breathed in and out... and I thought... why really make myself a target site? So I left it alone and let the strength of the employer brand look after the threat of people being poached.

On this I saw a website, where the company actually put everyone's name on it, daring people to call their people, with the notion being that we love our people and they love us.. if you can convince them to leave.. go for it :)
