The fog of war or the scent of battle is hard to fathom as are many of the trials our military must face, but imagine when the young men and women who bravely served our country return to this great nation as a civilian and find even more challenges during their job search.

Yesterday DirectEmployers Association was honored to have Megan Krause and Lisa Stern from America's Heroes At Work present "Demystifying Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in the Workplace" to our member companies and state workforce partners.

TBI and PTSD are incredibly misunderstood and DirectEmployers was proud to bring the first part of a series of educational presentations to our community.

Meg's Story
During the presentation Meg shared a glimpse of her story which compelled me to share the following video.

Staff Sgt. Megan Krause
As an Army medic, Krause knew the warning signs of depression and PTSD, yet didn’t recognize them in herself. Fortunately others did. Colleagues across the chain of command helped her see that she needed treatment and that it was OK to ask for help.
