Sometimes a show sounds a lot different in the recording that it does when you are participating in it live.

A few weeks ago Amy AlaDerek Zeller and @HR_Nasty decided to appear as tag team on the Recruiting Animal Show. They billed themselves as The 3 Stooges of Corporate Recruiting.

Their fans were very excited but it seemed that the show was going awry from the start because too many people were talking at once.

There were a lot of complaints on Twitter, too, that reinforced this impression. However, I just listened to the first 20 minutes and for the most part it seems like a real conversation. Maybe the disaster happens later; I don't know.

I know enjoyed the last half hour of the show while it was going. There's a long aftershow, too, in which they slay me as usual.

Another big surprise was the sound. It's pretty good even though it didn't seem so while we were live.

Of course Amy Ala criticized me for not talking about the topics she suggested last week.

She did send me an email saying that they could talk about resumes and stuff like that. I asked for more detail but she's too strategic to go granular so I read their blogs and asked questions about things they were obviously interested in -- but that didn't please her.

And I seem to remember offering to let her take over and talk about whatever she wanted -- but I guess that doesn't count.

She was mad at me for the questions I asked last time @HR_Nasty was on and she was mad at me last time she was on for ending the conversation too soon. But, hey, we're bound to hate the people we like to hang around with aren't we because they have the opportunity to offend. So I see it as a compliment.

And here's a good discussion about the show on Facebook

It was a good show, thanks Animal & guests! I ate lunch at my desk and scheduled around it, and thought it was worth it. My score would have been 85 for Animal and 90 for guests. Sure, they probably had a lot more to share but some of the fun of the show is the ranting (Animal) and the sidebar comments (peanut gallery & Jerry). If there are a group of guests again, maybe it would be good to have the discussion follow a bit more with the topics they had prepared. Just to get a organized flow going. But then again, Animal is Animal. Don't want that to change. I think.

Thank you, dear. You heard me telling Amy that she could talk about anything she wanted I'm sure.

I figured it was a trap. :) Next time Animal... you will have us back right?

You can book your crew for another appearance but the animal crew goes nuts if someone comes on too often so I'm guessing 2 mos between star turns is the minimum - See AnimalSchedule.info - I have lots of dates open. DriveThruHR is booked 5 days a week a year in advance but no one is rushing to take the hot seat on the Recruiting Animal Show
