In order to understand the future of the Semantic Search Engine it is essential for one to understand its meaning, How it functions and what are the advantages of this form of system?

So let’s begin by addressing the crucial question, what do you mean when you say Semantic Search Engine?

Meaning of a Semantic Search Engine

As the name suggests it is an added feature to a ‘Search Engine’ for instance Google, Yahoo or Bing. The term ‘Semantic Search’ refers to improving searches to get accurate results by understanding the ‘searcher’s intentions’ combining the ‘contextual’ meaning of the ‘terms entered’ into a search engine ‘as they appear’ in the ‘searchable data – space’, whether on the ‘web’ or ‘within’ a ‘close system’. Put simply, it is a better way of obtaining accurate’ and relevant’ results by understanding the intention of the searcher when he/she enters related words’ in their search along with the meanings and relevance’ to the words used’. The main objective of a Semantic Search is to achieve better and more accurate results when searches are conducted.

How does it Function?

A Semantic Search begins when a searcher enters their search words. The words used are generally related to each other. This search engine takes into account the searcher’s intentions of using those specific words including the relevance of each word. Once all these aspects are considered it then displays the most relevant and accurate results. Now that we have a clear understanding of Semantic Search Engine we will move onto addressing the topic in question.

Besides one can now type in a full question and still receive relevant and accurate results.
