The Power of a Sourcing Pipeline at Microsoft
Tuesday, December 16, 2008
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM EST

Presented by Doug Berg, Founder & Chief Innovation Officer, Jobs2Web, Inc. and Marvin Smith, Talent Community Development, Microsoft

Microsoft Entertainment & Devices is building their online talent community and helping to pipeline talent that will meet current and future recruiting needs for their specific product areas including Zune, Xbox, Sync, Mobile, Surface, etc, and for 10 specific targeted talent pipelines such as hardware engineers, software engineers, gaming professionals, designers, testers, and more.

In the last webcast of the year in Strategic Sourcing and Recruiting, Marvin Smith will share how they evangelized the need for building the Talent Community initiative within Microsoft's Entertainment & Devices (E&D) Division ($7.5B & 8000 employees). He will also share what tools and technologies they have utilized to launch their talent community, the multi-year phased approach towards building a talent community, and the results that they have achieved to date.

Prior to joining Microsoft, Marvin was in corporate recruiting/recruiting leadership with several early stage and developing technology organizations. Marvin's corporate recruiting was built on a foundation of two decades of middle and senior level search serving high technology and manufacturing firms. He was a principal with 3 different firms. Marvin has a BA from Pacific Lutheran University.
