It's no surprise now that the economy is dwindling. So, either you're going to worry and wait until all gets better (which could take years) or you'll do something proactive for yourself. I suggest the latter way, as it's the one that builds character. It helps you financially survive in everything. Tough times teach us to be more practical and hardworking. Aside from doing full-time work, you can do side jobs or freelance works. These freelance works help in paying the bills, avoiding personal loans, and compensating your lifestyle needs.
So with that, Speedy Money recommends fun and quirky ways to help your finances in this bleak market. This way, you’re earning more and you’re also feeling fulfilled at what you do.
Freelance Writing
In this era, internet has been the place for writers: both professionals and amateurs. There have a lot blog sites for various niche. So if you are into writing, you can get a freelance writing job while you juggle your time with full-time work. Writing can be useful especially if you’re into it and at the same time, you have a degree on it. You can use all the learning you gained from school and work and apply it online. You just have to find what kind of writing you want to do.
Band Managing
Do you love music but just can’t carry a tune or even play a note? No need to despair. You’re supposed passion for music can still bring you extra bucks when you become a band (or talent) manager. Usual tasks include booking gigs, organizing promotional events, and reputation management, among other things.
Do Online Stuff
Since I'm hooked on the internet, it's very efficient to find jobs that relate to it. Are you aware that there are now a lot of clients who will pay you to do web searches for them, read or organize their emails, do some freelance writing jobs in their blogs, and other online activities? It's all true. So, find these individuals and get paid for your online stay; just make sure they're legitimate clients who will value and compensate your work properly. Writing is a mental skill that not everyone can do. Take advantage of that. You can find a multitude of freelance writing opportunities in the internet and on media publications, just focus on a particular niche and theme.
Designing Invitations
Starting out on small orders, your computer and printer are the only equipment you’ll need. Although there are basic software programs now to get you started, be bold and creative in both the designs and the layouts. That's how repeat and referred clients are made.
Tour Guide
I'm naturally curious and outdoorsy, so a day or two of tour guiding really gives my imagination, not to mention my legs, a stretch. And I don't have to go far. I happen to live near an eco-park, so on weekends; I'm signed up to tour people around the trails, the lagoon premises, and the mini-zoo. I'm enjoying the sun, the nature walks, and the company of new people. And I'm still getting paid; it couldn't get better than this.
Graphic Designing
If you are handy with digital arts like using Photoshop, why not set up for graphic designing. You can render your service on a project-based work for publishing companies and even on advertising firm. You just need to work on your portfolio and you're off for this kind of freelance work.
Transcription/Translation
I don't have a great typing skill or keen on listening audio files but if you are, then you are in for a consistent living freelancing as translator or transcribers. In general, this type of work involves tapes of meetings, dictated letters, or even interviews that need to be put on paper for record keeping purposes.
Tough economy can lead to penny problems but we have to survive. I know these days are rough but we can do something about it. We can do things that can help us to survive the personal financial crisis we have. I believe that we just need to have determination, skills, passion and willingness to do things and learn new stuff. We cannot be too choosy nowadays.
