A place to stay until they retire. Many candidates hesitate to change companies, willing to put up with a less-than-ideal employer if it means they feel stable. When they don’t currently feel that way - be ready to show you can address it.
To be remembered as a person, not just a source of income. Many candidates have families and lives outside of the company. Studies show that allowing an employee to leave a little early to attend their daughter’s ballet recital or their grandmother’s 100th birthday party actually increases productivity, employee loyalty, and decreases turnover.
Recognition for a job well done. This seems like a basic request, but many studies show that this is lacking in the workplace. If your employee exceeds sales goals, give them some praise. Even a quick mention on social media can go far to boost morale.
Opportunity. Sometimes it’s the opportunity to move upward in the company, or maybe to be able to make more sales, or to try out new products.
