Because I understand that in order to play the games I like to play, drive the truck (yes - truck) I like to drive and live like I enjoying living - I must ring the cash register.
Yes - I have said it. It isn't about getting along or wanting the best for everyone!
It is about ringing the cash register.
Making the sale - sending the invoice and cashing the check.
I don't like to be told what to do - therefore - must be self employeed.
I like the finer things in life - great horse, trailer, and all the trimmings.
My kids require shoes - therefore I must make $$. It is all about ringing the cash register.
I call the clients to get the job order, I call the candidates to sell them on the job and then I marry the two in wedded employment bliss. For this I make a living and I don't have to eat airport food (which I did a lot of when I was a sales manager for Chiron Diagnostics). I don't do a lot of overnight travel - maybe 12 nights per year. When I worked at Bio Rad Laboratories - SouthWest Airlines gave me a free passenger ticket for a year. Why? not cause Herbie liked me, I traveled over 65 roundtrips in 52 weeks.
I would be lying if I said that I don't enjoy this job - I love it. I like talking to people at all levels.
I enjoy making the close. But most specifically, I work to live, not live to work.
Smart - I use tools and people to make this happen.
I have a great employees, great ATS system, 2 monitors, an RPO for data entry, a telephone system for routing, a blackberry, and a pen w/pad of paper. Oh - and coffee. Lots of it.
How can you tell a smart recruiter from one that is "not smart"?
Are they improving their process, their system and their service? All the time? SMART.
