Digital recruitment agencies are no longer considered specialist, they are fast becoming the norm. Why? The world has taken a turn for the digital and as much as you try to avoid the incessant white noise, it’s hard to resist. You know the saying, ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’; it’s time to join forces.
You might think that joining the digital revolution is unnecessary, going digital may have no relevance to your current position, but it’s time to think again my friend. Like George Orwell predicted in 1984, we will all eventually be under digital scrutiny and Salt, digital recruitment agency, explains why it might not be such a bad thing after all.

We used to love filing cabinets, who wouldn’t? A place you can conveniently and logically store all your paperwork – until eventually the filing cabinets were no longer convenient. They took up endless amounts of space and it was very easy to lose what you were trying to keep safe. This is where computers and ‘cloud’ storage steps in – an online filing system saving, storing and recalling the information you need at the touch of your fingertips. This is one digital change that most people are willing to take on board.
It’s more than likely that the job role you’re in involves some form of data storage or record collection (not the vinyl sort) – if so, you’re on your way to the digital realm.
Networking is an out of work activity that everybody dreads or did, until the invention of the internet and sites such as LinkedIn and Twitter. Previously, you had to make awkward conversation and small talk with strangers that would never be able to assist you with your business enquiry. Now, with the power of digital, you are able to seek out individuals that are relevant to your niche industry, ‘connect’ with them and email them at your (and their) convenience.
Networking online makes the world a much smaller place, it provides a neutral zone for individuals to carry out work activities that previously required much forethought and planning, and best of all it’s free (or relatively cheap).
If you are a member of LinkedIn or have any number of Twitter followers it’s likely that your job has taken a turn for the digital.
Research and development
Poll’s carried out on Facebook, online surveys, access to government records via their websites – information all easily accessible over the internet that previously took years to acquire. All this information is helping businesses move forward at an excessive rate, and provides a wealth of customer centred information that wasn’t before available. If you use any of these methods to assist with research and development within your company you are most definitely part of the digital transformation.

With the invention of social media sites such as; Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, Tumbler and more, we are able to gain insight in to our customers’ daily lives. We can communicate without bombarding them with emails, letters or phone calls. Best of all we can build a two way relationship based on mutual respect and trust.
