So there seems to be a lot of interesting thoughts on years of experience for skills. I see things like Senior with 6+ years of experience. Okay great but just because someone has 6 years of experience versus say someone with 3 does not mean the 6 years is better. It really comes down to skills and knowledge. For example I know a person who has about 3 years of experience in sourcing. I can tell you for a fact they know more about sourcing than people with 6+ years of experience. Yet rather than taking time to talk with this person, they overlook them wanting someone with more experience. Experience does not equal skill or even knowledge. All it means is you have been doing it longer, not that you have been doing it better. Its time to stop focusing on experience and instead focus on skill and knowledge. You might find some really great people.
