Where do the best candidates hide online?

Over the last two years and a half, we have been answering very question. With close to 100,000,000 banner, email and text impressions we have a good idea.

First, a little background.

In 1999, I became the first person to market student loans online at financialaid.com. We ended up becoming the largest provider of student loans online, transacting more than 1 Billion dollars of business each year. We found websites that attracted students and recent graduates and then polled them about where else they went. Next we put together partnerships with these organizations. In exchange for placements on their website we provided them with valuable content which made their website more sticky for the user. As the business grew, we realized that our database and the careful tracking of where our users came from would lead us to the promised land. It did.

At Climber.com we have taken the same strategy. We create a wide array of banner ads, emails and text messages and then buy hundreds of millions of impressions all to answer one simple question. Where do the best candidates hide online?

Now we have hundreds of millions of points of data which drives a powerful business process we call Requisition Driven Marketing (RDM). For each new job, our RDM system points us to where Qualified, Available, Interested
candidates have come from in the past. Recruiters post jobs and our system goes to work attracting new Climbers who fit that requisition's needs.

But, we do not stop there. Since we have such a large pool of data we can slice and dice. We can figure out where RN's visit in the evening and what messages resonate with them. We can track by income, experience, industry, occupation, work values, employment history and more. We found a strong correlation between video games and system admins. We found an unending supply of re-entry workers.

Now that we have the data we would love to share it with you.

Cheers,
