Well they are starting to burn my butt and I'm not particularly happy about the latest change in Linkedins policy.

"In the coming days and weeks you might receive inquiries (and complaints) from members of your LinkedIn group(s) about the newly-instituted limit of 50 group memberships per LinkedIn member. You might also see a decrease in your group membership as LinkedIn members scramble to meet the newly-imposed limit. In any event, those who have not pared their membership lists down themselves will have the task done for them -- LinkedIn will count down from the first 50 groups joined by the member -- and eliminate the rest.

However, this limit does NOT apply (nor does there seem to be any way of doing so) to offsite groups. One tactic to consider for those moderators who have not already done so is to create an offsite group with a discussion forum and other means for members to interact with one another, and then publicize it to your LinkedIn group members. Such groups could provide a viable alternative.
"

One of the ways I was able to built up my network up to 8800+ was to send requests for invites to people who wanted to join my group, CPD - Candidate Pipeline Development. Another way I added invites to my list was to join a lot of other group (400 groups or so) and I get plenty of invites from people who look up members from those groups and send invites. Now that is going away too.

So on goes the push and pull for dominance over at Linkedin. Are the Users in Control or is Linkedin. Right now I'd say Linkedin is asserting more dominance in attemtps to take back control from the users. They created the "Open Networking Monster" now they want to contain it. Bring King Kong back from the jungle and keep it in a cage... Hopefully the Open Networker will not meet with the same fate as the great ape.
